One of the nicest and most original cards. Haridimos and Konstantina Hatzidakis chose to send wishes on a card with drawings by their daughter, Stella, showing that the winery really is a family matter.
With great care a small cave-house was converted to a winery, which became the home of Haridomos and Konstantina Hatzidakis' love for the Santorini vineyard. Hatzidakis winery has been in operation since 1997 and is located outside of Pyrgos village, on the way to the monastery of the Prophet Elias.
Using white and red grape varieties of Santorini's soil, Hatzidakis winery produces six wines:
Santorini VQPRD - Dry white wine produced from the asyrtiko, aidani and athiri varieties
Aidani-Asyrtiko - Dry white wine produced from the aidani, asyrtiko and athiri varieties, and a product of biological farming
Nykteri - Dry white wine produced from the asyrtiko variety
Santorini barrel - Dry white wine produced from the asyrtiko variety and aged in oak barrels
Mavrotragano - Dry red wine produced from the mavrotragano and mantilaria varietites
Vinsanto - Natural sweet wine produced from the asyrtiko and aidani varieties
It is probably the smallest winery in the world but its wines already have enthusiastic fans and have really made their mark. Santorini 2000 won the bronze medal at the 2nd International Wine Competition in Thessaloniki. Santorini 2002 won the silver medal in the International Wine and Spirit Competition that was held in London in 2003. The greatest award gained so far was the gold medal for Santorini 2003 at the Decanter World Wine Awards.
Haridimos and Konstantina Hatzidakis never cease to work towards perfection. They aim for a constantly high quality of their wines and promise ever improving production, aromas and tastes.
